: Dr. Kurt R. Madsen, DO Kurt Madsen, MD, orthopedic surgeon, is serving as Medical Director for the Sports/Industrial Rehabilitation program at Sullivan County Community Hospital. Dr. Madsen has performed a number of procedures at SCCH, including kyphoplasty, total joint replacement and fracture repair. Dr. Madsen will be available on a consultative basis as indicated. Dr. Madsen graduated from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine at Still University of Health Sciences. He specializes in Orthopedics, and Orthopedic surgery. He has a private practice and is affiliated with Terre Haute Regional Hospital and Sullivan Community Hospital. Orthopedics is the branch of medicine and medical specialty dealing with the prevention or correction of injuries or disorders of the skeletal system and associated muscles, joints, and ligaments. Orthopedic Surgery includes the preservation, investigation, and restoration of the form and function of the extremities, spine and associated structures by medical, surgical and physical means.
