Re:  Special Dine with a Doc™© 2/11/2010 11a-1pm @ Bethesda Gardens

Senior Education Ministries, Inc. has scheduled a SPECIAL Dine with a Doc™© on the February 11, 2010 from 11a-1pm at theBethesda Gardens 1450 E Crossing Blvd Terre Haute, IN
(812) 298-8209

DINE WITH A DOC™©is an event that welcomes you, the local senior public to hear the doctor of the month present an educational topic while you enjoy lunch.  Dr. Steven McDonald has graciously donated this time in effort to listen, hear, and answer your medical questions while sharing a meal with you. Door prizes will be available for you to win!
It is a wonderful way to fellowship with your friends, have a nutritious lunch and possibly win a door prize.  You do NOT need to live at Bethesda Gardens to come and participate. Just bring a questioning mind, an appetite and perhaps a friend.

Dr. McDonald obtained his MD from Southern Illinois University.  He is board certified in Family practice. His special medical interests include Pediatrics, Metabolic Syndrome (including diabetes, hypertension and hyperlipidemia) and Alzheimer’s disease.  He is married and the father of 5 children.

Dr. McDonald is dedicated to providing community awareness.  He opened up the Harold McDonald Alzheimer’s Care Center after his father, Harold McDonald, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. In his words, “Alzheimer's disease is often poorly recognized by both patients and families. Since we now have better treatment for this disease than we did even 5 years ago, early diagnosis and treatment is critical if we expect to maximize a person's remaining years. For these reasons, I felt compelled to improve both community as well as physician awareness of this disease.”

Dr. McDonald’s presentation will address Alzheimer’s disease.  A question and answer period will follow his presentation.
